Booking & Refund Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026
This policy explains how bookings, deposits, cancellations and refunds work for Drift Tour Japan (“DTJ”) drift days and tours. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. Requesting a date
Submitting a booking request on our website is free and places you under no obligation. It is not a confirmed booking. We will contact you to confirm availability and, where applicable, the deposit and balance due.
2. Deposits & balance
- A deposit is generally required to secure your date once confirmed. The deposit amount and balance due date will be advised in your confirmation.
- The balance must be paid by the date specified. If it is not, we may treat the booking as cancelled and apply the cancellation terms below.
- Payments are processed securely by Square.
3. Cancellations by you
Because we reserve circuits, instructors, vehicles and travel arrangements in advance, the following indicative terms apply unless stated otherwise in your confirmation:
- Drift days: cancel 14+ days before your date for a full refund of any amount paid less the non-refundable deposit; 7–13 days, 50% of the package; less than 7 days or no-show, no refund.
- Full tours: deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations 90+ days before departure may receive a refund of amounts paid less the deposit; 60–89 days, 50%; less than 60 days, no refund. Some third-party costs (such as flights) may be non-refundable regardless of timing.
4. Changes & rescheduling
Where possible we will try to accommodate a one-time date change if you ask far enough in advance, subject to availability and any difference in price. Repeated changes or short-notice changes may be treated as a cancellation.
5. Cancellations or changes by DTJ
If we must cancel or significantly change an experience due to weather, safety, circuit closure, mechanical issues or other circumstances, we will offer you a reschedule, a comparable alternative, or a refund of amounts paid for the affected component. We are not responsible for incidental costs you incur (such as flights or accommodation booked separately) — personal travel insurance is strongly recommended.
6. Weather & track conditions
Drift days generally run in light rain. Where conditions are genuinely unsafe and we cancel, you will be offered a reschedule or refund of the affected track component.
7. Consumer rights
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights. Where a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy as provided by law.
8. How to cancel or request a refund
Contact us in writing as early as possible:
- Email: info@drifttourjapan.au
- Phone: +61 481 281 800
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method and may take several business days to appear.
