Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
Last updated: 15 June 2026
All participants in Drift Tour Japan (“DTJ”) drift and motorsport activities are required to read, understand and sign a Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk before taking part. This page summarises what that waiver covers.
1. Acknowledgement of risk
I understand that drifting, driving and riding in performance vehicles, and being present at a motorsport circuit are inherently dangerous activities that carry a real risk of serious injury, permanent disability, death and property damage. These risks include, but are not limited to, loss of vehicle control, collisions, fire, mechanical failure, and the conduct of myself and others.
2. Voluntary participation
I am taking part voluntarily and of my own free will, with full knowledge of the risks. I confirm I am physically and mentally fit to participate, am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and will disclose any medical condition that may affect my safety.
3. Rules & instructions
I agree to follow all safety briefings, instructor and staff directions, circuit rules and the use of supplied safety equipment at all times. I understand that failure to do so may result in my removal from the activity without refund.
4. Assumption of risk & release
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I assume all risk of participation and release and hold harmless DTJ, Rayin Motorsports, partner circuits, instructors, staff and their agents from claims for loss, injury or damage arising from my participation, except to the extent caused by their reckless conduct or gross negligence, and except for rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
5. Consumer rights
Certain consumer guarantees and rights cannot be excluded. Where the law permits a supplier of recreational services to ask participants to waive certain rights for the supply of dangerous recreational activities, this waiver is intended to operate to that extent and no further. Nothing here is intended to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Medical treatment
In the event of injury, I consent to DTJ arranging first aid or emergency medical treatment on my behalf, and I am responsible for the costs of any treatment not otherwise covered by insurance.
7. Minors
Where the participant is under 18, this waiver must be read and signed by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the minor's behalf.
8. Insurance
I understand that any track-day insurance provided covers only the specified activity, may carry an excess, and is not a substitute for personal travel, medical or life insurance, which I am responsible for arranging.
9. Acceptance
The binding waiver is signed in person (or electronically) before participation. By making a booking you acknowledge that signing the waiver is a condition of taking part. If you have questions, contact us before your date:
